Language Learning: Theory and Research

This module introduces students to the process of language learning from the perspectives of current theory and research. You will critically explore some of the main developments in theory and research over the last quarter of a century, investigating factors affecting the process of learning, both those external and internal to the learner.

Language Learning: Theory and Research complements other modules related to development and cognition such as Language and Cognition and Evolutionary Linguistics.

Available as an option module in Autumn 2014. Teaching on Language Learning: Theory and Research is provided by the Centre for English Language Teaching in the School of Education.
